Sketchbook Entry #1: Dreaming of Sunshine

So my aunt bought me this mixed media sketchbook last year and I decided to use it now since I'm doing an art therapy project wherein I relax by drawing random things I felt like drawing. This one is made by a brand called Monologue and its quite affordable at around P500-600 range.

I have been looking for a cheap mixed media paper for the LONGEST time but its just so hard to acquire! I know that the Canson Mix Media are quite cheap in the US (around $10 or  roughly around PHP 500.00) but you won't believe how much that cost in the Philippines. It costs around PHP1500!! With that money, I could've bought a professional gradepaper instead of a student grade like Canson! I'm not paying ridiculous amount of money for that!

Inflation is crazy here in PH!

Anyways back to the sketchbook, PHP 600.00 may be pricey for most but keep in mind that you are getting a quality sketchbook; its not pro grade but its good enough for the price and for beginners. I bought the one in size A5 which I thought is quite travel friendly and it'll help me draw in a more smaller scale since I tend to draw large drawings. It comes with 48 leaves of 200 gsm acid free Italian paper that is suitable for dry and wet mediums- so basically you'll have at least 96 pages of space to draw! Its not bad for the price!

I'll make a separate review on the sketch book next time for more details!

Dreaming of Sunshine

So this is my entry #1 and it'll serve as a "welcoming" page, so I thought I should make a optimistic art.

The girl is inspired by Alice of Alice in Wonderland but then I changed her hair into violet cause why the hell not?! Its my favourite colour and I think its only fair to do the first page with violet!

There's nothing really meaningful about this- its just some random sketch I did in class while I was bored and decided to color later on. I already made this like way back early 2018 but I decided to do a Sketchbook Entry series here in my blog just to keep track of them and to make it easy for me to remember what I drew, their meanings, and the story behind it!

Anyways, hope y'all have a happy evening!
Ciao,

♥ Aly
